WELCOME TO THE MEAT CHAMBER
Welcome to the abattoir in the void, where life and death blend into one shared experience. The mind turns into the body, and the body's afflictions seep into the mind. Just as sex brings life, death renews it. The Meat Chamber, leaves no one unscathed; the sacred and the world dissolve in flesh.
Horror as a poliTical Tool
Where I come from, violent crimes and death can be surprisingly common, often going unnoticed by much of the local population and the rest of the world. My work confronts this reality head-on, using an unfiltered lens to shed light on societal issues.
empaThy Through The lens of disgusT
Why do I go to extreme lengths to depict violent scenes? Because showing acts of cruelty like murder, mutilation, dismemberment, and death in a softened way only turns away from the raw pain of these experiences. Violence isn’t pretty, and it should never be portrayed as such.
The Way of The Flesh
My leitmotif is meat, bone, and flesh, as a way to portray how oppressive and impactful mental health afflictions can be on our bodies. In this post-COVID world, much is discussed about the impact of mental health, yet very little is openly addressed. That’s why I chose to transform such pain and decaying emotions into literal embodiments of material feelings.
The body and The mind are one
When your body mirrors your state of mind, the world seems to freeze as the flesh takes over your sense of self. We stop being human and begin to transform. The sickness flows in and out of us at once, until we realize everything is becoming part of our bodies. Faces vanish, no longer recognizable, and our bodies are no longer under our control; all that remains is our pain and our mind.
THE ABATTOIR OF HUMANITY
With the rise of AI and the ongoing shift toward industrializing services into subscription models, humanity feels closer than ever to becoming little more than shells of flesh, serving the very machines we created. Stripped of soul and driven by quick schemes to succeed within the system, we ultimately risk being ground down and processed by it.
meaT THE BUTCHER!
I’m Francisco Tabakman, also known as, Frankly Tired. a Paraguayan industrial designer and digital artist. My work draws on dark, grotesque imagery and influences from Goya, Bacon, H.R. Giger and Japanese ero-guro to explore suffering, decay, tenderness and the lives society prefers to hide.
